The success of the U.S. Transplant Games has created opportunities to demonstrate the success of transplantation and the critical need for additional donors.

shotput.jpgThe Games celebrate the rehabilitation of formerly chronically ill individuals who, through the lifesaving therapy of transplantation, are able to live full and productive lives. The Transplant Games allow recipients to test the challenges of human potential through the arena of athletic competition. The enthusiasm of the athletes has led to the emergence of local, state and regional activities, all of which publicize the fact that transplants do work.

Whether you were transplanted at UAB, South Alabama, or someplace else — if you live in Alabama or the Florida panhandle — our team has a space for you!

Athletic Events

MedalsGold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded in over forty events in a dozen sports including: Badminton, Basketball, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Racquetball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and 5K Road Race/Walk — also Team Bowling and Golf.

Costs

We assist each member in developing the skills to raise funds, both individually and as a team to defray the costs for all athletes, donor families and living donors. While our goal is covering most costs, it takes tremendous teamwork and we do require each member to participate in various fund raising activities.

Team Meetings

Each interested party is strongly encouraged to attend our meetings. These meetings give you an opportunity to meet other team members as well as learn more about The Games, training, and what to expect. You will also learn about the fund raising activities we use to defray the costs of participating in The Games. Please contact us if you would like to participate.

Once you decide to become a team member, please plan on attending the other important dates on our calendar of events.
